The Longest Day

Well here we are on the longest day of the yearJune 21st 2012 and I am well into the wedding season now. I am priviledged to have been part of some amazing weddings already this year. Jenny and Jon Palmers Rock n Roll wedding at The Wild Boar At Crook was a wonderful day. The weather was kind to the bride and groom, Jenny and her band of helpers made the day so wonderful and different. The wedding car was a VW Camper van which was very cool…the bridesmaids wore black and white spotted dresses which was a very 50’s fashion. Throughout the wedding breakfast the bride and groom requested some classic 50’s tunes to be played at a low level. I introduced the wedding speakers with some musical intros to suit the occasion which caused a laugh. The night time was brilliant, the venue was rocking especially when I put a few Irish tunes on. Good luck and best wishes to you both Jenny and Jon,you make a lovely couple. I am also very excited as The Wild Boar At Crook is where I will be resident over Christmas and New Year 2012.

This Saturday I had the honour of working for Stephanie and James Wilson at Bartle Hall, near Preston. This also gave me the chance to work with one of my favourite wedding singers,Paul Guard. Paul always gets the party really going which makes it so much easier for me to follw as the crowd are always going crazy when he finishes his set. Stephanie and James had such a wonderful group of family and friends that were really up for a party. It was really good to meet Dr Jones, I just could not pass the oppertunity, I had to play Dr Jones by Aqua for him which caused a laugh and a cheer. At midnight the “oldies” at the back of the room requested That’s Amore by Dean Martin. Again I could not resist, I got everyone to link arms and start swaying. By the end of the song most guests were stood on their chairs swaying from left to right and singing their hearts out! Stephanie and James are a very loving and happy couple, I would like to thank them very much for their hospitality and for their thankyou card. This weekend I am on my travels again including a wedding in another country….watch this space for details on how that goes! Enjoy your weekend and look out for the Olympic Torch which will be in the North West.
