Big North West Weddings.

As you can imagine the past four weeks have been very busy for me. I have had the Jonny Drapers amazing photography at The Great Hall At Mainsprivlage to work on some amazing weddings in some of the North of Englands finest venues…but all wanting very different and varied types of music. This has included weddings at The Inn at Whitewell for Helen and Andy Fahey, which was an all day wedding including background music and introducing speakers. The bride and groom were very much into the Indie music scene and wanted just Indie music playing during the day and night. It was a very different playlist to what I usually do but what an amazing wedding it was! The dancefloor was full from the start to the finish…a brilliant day and certainly a wedding to remember!

This was followed by a brilliant wedding at The Grand in St Annes for Helen and Matt Duke. Again a completely different taste of music wanting more current chart tunes with the odd 90s classic thrown in for good measures! It was great to see the groom,Matt Duke recreating the dance to The Backstreet Boys Larger Than Life, I have only just stopped laughing about it! Matt was a star and great fun, again another great day at The Grand

I have also been involved with weddings at The Hilton Hotel, Blackpool for the bride and groom Sue and Mick, Mr and Mrs Parry. Again their musical tastes were more for Motown, Soul and classic Disco tunes. It was great fun working for Sue and Mick whos family and Friends were really up for a great party. It also let me play some great old foot stompers like Proud Mary by Ike and Tina Turner and Real Love by Drizabone which is a modern soul classic.

Last but not least Becky and David Middletons Wedding at The Great Hall At Mains. This was a fabulous wedding which let me work with two of my favourite people on the wedding scene, Howard Wing and ace photographer Jonny Draper. Its great seeing these two ultra professional guys working but also having a laugh and good time as well. Howard was at his “pant splitting” best ripping a pair of his trousers from Port To Stearn! This was just a straight forward anything goes party which is great…it gives me a freehand to play some classic tunes as well as some old songs you may not have heard in a while.

It really does prove that if you book me, I always advise to have a good chat or even a meeting with me to discuss what you want playing during your night, there is nothing worse than a DJ playing music you do not like or want all night! Until the next time enjoy the Olympics…come on Team GB!!
